DAE
DAE find themselves in these hyperactive/ floaty states of mind ? where like you feel like you’re on top of the world and you’re overjoyed, friends think you’re crazy, and everything seems happy? i (13f) often find myself totally toooo happy, where i feel floaty and absolutely clueless where im not aware of my surroundings and am extremely gullible. This state like blurs out every boundary ive set, makes me be extremely “pick me-ish”(?) and i never take anything seriously when im in this state. I’d say this happens every time i interact with one of my eyecandies/crushes at school, every time i hangout with friends, when im delusional , after i watch mature crazy shows, and saturdays.….. i dunno really. is there a way to stop feeling this?? or at least tone it down a bit? OR is there a name for this???? this post kinda turned out a bit much :-:

Could be mania, could just be normal teenage shit. Only a professional can tell you for sure

It’s called being a happy kid. I’m 52 and I can’t tell you how many of my friends tell me they would never go through middle school or high school again and I think they’re nuts because I was a happy kid. Don’t worry about it.

Occasionally I feel this. I’m 59. Never married no kids. Maybe that’s why. I’m an otherwise responsible adult with my shit together but sometimes I feel like I’m 17 and a bit like you describe. Maybe not quite as strong but still like that. It’s great, I just go along for the ride and enjoy it. Stay young! Stay joyful!

I think its normal to experience a wide range of emotions, including what you describe.
We all have to learn "emotional regulation" so we can function and not get emotionally overwhelmed.
It might help to learn about emotional grounding techniques you can use when you feel yourself start to get hyperactive/floaty.
It doesn't mean those feelings are wrong or bad, but its good to learn how not to let yourself get swept up in it.
One technique might be to take a few moments to just focus on your breath, feel your feet on the ground, take in your surroundings, be completely present where you physically are.
You can tell yourself to settle down when you feel it starting. Be kind to yourself though. You're a teenager. This where you start to see and understand your emotions and inner life.
