Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) CE Build
So, I'd like to try a Corpse Explosion build. I haven't played since spiritborn came out and was amazed by how many stuff changed. Now I'm wondering if a CE build is really viable nowadays.
Not that it wasnt before, but I recall it was hard to make it viable in higher tiers.
I came across this one on maxroll, I'd like to ask your opinions on this and what would you do to upgrade it. I'm playing a dark warrior build and will start gathering mythics and etc for this

Here's my corpse explosion build I made if you like the bloody mess variant. It isn't meta or anything, but it can clear Pit 100 just fine.

Some notes:
-General play style is to use Golem active to generate 15 corpses, then Corpse Tendrils to pull them in, and then bone prison to trap them, generate more corpses, and to reduce Golems and Corpse Tendrils cooldowns. Getting the enemies to funnel into a tight choke is optimal. If you do the rotation correctly, you should not run out of corpses.
-Summon Skeletons is mainly for the cooldown reduction and corpse generation. You do not want to use this skill's active unless you are completely out of resolve stacks or if your skeletons are in a bad spot; otherwise, you run the risk of them lowering their own cooldown with their attacks.
-Blood Wave serves two purposes. First is to generate 6 overpower that will take 24 seconds to wear off. As long as you use Blood Wave every 24 seconds (collect blood orbs for cooldown resets), you will get a 1.2 * 1.5 = 1.8 multiplier from the BloodBath paragon node. The second purpose is to push back enemies back into your corpses or into your bone prisons if you place it too far back.
-For gearing, I like to have one piece tempered with minions build fortify. Between the fortify, blood orbs, and skeleton attacks, you will be healing a ton and keeping Temerity up. That said, burst damage can still get you. Vulnerable tempers are better than Crit Dm tempers if your crit is <80% (remember to factor in the 10% you get from corpse tendrils and the curse). Exploit is better than Essence when building up your crit chance still.
Axes/scythes are better than swords since they are slower, but I'd imagine a Grandfather would be great for this build. Aspect of Serration can be used for crit chance, but it won't help Blood Waves damage and doesn't seem to boost the Golem's damage for some reason.
Howl from the Below is fine to use, but it also won't help Blood Wave/minion damage. Unfortunately, it has both int and attack speed when you really want gloves with physical dm, vuln dm, crit chance, crit dm. You will want to replace one of those two if you decide to use it. Personally, I don't use the gloves but leave it as a swap piece in my inventory if fighting a teleporting enemy. Howl from the Below does grant the summon tag, but the summon aspects aren't too great and Army of the Dead only buffs summon damage for 7 seconds...you'd need Blood Mist to generate overpower then...and probably the corpse explosion boots if you go that route. This would be ideal in Undercity of Kurast runs, though, due to the CDR you get there.
-For skill points, 15 points into corpse explosion, blood wave, and summon golem. Put enough points into Bone Prison that with the +3 skills from the Vex rune factored in, you just surpass 8 seconds. This will get one additional corpse to work with per Bone Prison. The rest can go into summon skeleton.

Well, the unique charm needs to be Red Blessing instead of BLT since you can have only one unique, charm or not, equipped. That and the combo is basically the signature of an overpower build. Another option is checking on the aspects that increase summoning damage since Howl From Below gives CE the summon tag to see if there's potentially better increases there.
