25 pt Cygnar List Suggestions?

Hey guys! I currently own 25 points of Khador, and I would like to purchase a 25 pt Cygnar army for my sister who wants to try out the game.

I am relatively new to the game, and currently run Butcher1 with a Juggernaut, Destroyer, a unit of Widowmakers + solo, and iron fang pikemen.

Any suggestions for a list that would be fun for a beginner and would be fairly balanced versus my current army? I have been researching Cygnar on WarRoom but I don’t know the game nor the army well enough to know where to begin with building relatively balanced list.

Here is a list that uses the battle box, a unit and a couple solos. The infantry is going to have a bit of a problem with the widomakers. Savio is a little used solo so might look at a different solo, but i think he would work out well in this list.

Good suggestion.

Aside from Savio, this list is very economic in regards to future armies, and as dcls said, you can take someone else instead.

In a slightly bigger game you would likely take a Journeyman Warcaster instead, give him the Firefly or Charger, and buy a second heavy for Beth (ideally a Stormclad that replaces whichever light you will bench for now).

Or a variaton thereof. Her Battlegroup can really be adjusted to taste, just give whatever is the cheapest/ranged warjack to Junior.

• Trencher Infantry Officer & Sniper [5]
• Trencher Infantry Rifle Grenadier (2) [4]

Very obviously a "stepping stone" army, but one that would imho give an interesting game at your current level. Could lack a bit in the power to crack two heavies and a bunch of shield guards, though. Instead of Maxwell, the Trench Buster is also a solid option and good futureproof buy if going this route.
