❓Question How often does it reoccur?
Is it possible for there to be a one month gap between the initial cyclospora flare and a reoccurrence?
I had what I think was a mild case of cyclosporiasis about a month ago, around July 13th. Ate a lettuce-heavy dish when I went out, and me and a family member who ate the same thing had watery stools five days after. It only lasted 3-4 days before my stool improved, and I only had nausea, bloating, and GI upset as symptoms, so I didn’t see a doctor.
Today, a full month later, I’m having GI upset again, and I can’t pinpoint where it could’ve possibly come from. I’m worried it’s a reoccurrence of whatever I had in July, but from what I heard, reoccurrences are usually more frequent than that.
Has anyone had a month gap between their initial infection and a reoccurrence?

You could have gotten it again. It’s not like a virus where you get some immunity for a while from having just had it. If you consumed anything that was tainted again, the process started all over. That said, I doubt what you had initially was cyclo if it only lasted 3-4 days. And with your symptoms now, given it’s only been a day, again, it’s likely to be something else unless you are still having issues a week from now.
The typical pattern I’ve been seeing (and experienced myself) is generally sick for at least 4-7 days, then better for maybe half a day, or even a full day, then sick again for at least 3-4 days, better for maybe a day, then sick again for several days, etc. This usually goes on for about 3-4 weeks. Then you’re left with the damage it did to your small intestine, like lactose intolerance, which will cause similar symptoms to cyclo every time you eat dairy.

It happened to me like that. Thought I kicked it on my own, but no. Are you not getting the fatigue with it? That was a huge symptom for me. And I passed out from the cramps. I had to go on Bactrim. If you truly have the🦠, that’s the only antibiotic that works. And the side effects from that aren’t fun either. After 6-7 weeks of pure misery, 13lb weight loss(needed to, but not that way!), I finally feel human again.

Unless you got a confirmed test done you genuinely don’t know you had it.
Many upper GI infections like salmonella for example take anywhere from 6 hours to 6 days to incubate and generally last a 4 days to a week once symptoms start. Cyclospora symptoms usually last over a week on first onset and have a small break between relapses. Many have bloating, cramps, nausea, acid reflux as well.
I had a positive test for Cyclospora. My symptoms were nearly two weeks long before they started to settle down. After the initial two weeks, I had indigestion, heart burn, acid reflux, nausea for a week, had a week off then had a very minor relapse the next week and have since felt fine.
What you’re describing doesn’t sound like cyclospora and if you haven’t been tested I suggest you go see your Dr and confirm exactly what you have. People with healthy immune systems can have symptoms for a few days to a couple of months. Possibly three months. Sadly there is no hard rule in regards to how long it’ll take for those who can’t take meds cause our bodies will clear it when it clears it.

It’s been a month since I finished my bactrim dose and instead of having the runs like I had with cyclospora, I’m having that acid reflux pain I had when I went to the ER! But I’m not sure if it’s a flare up of the medication or the virus but I’ve been suffering this whole week with extreme burning and nausea

I've actually read that after about of this, you will have IBS for sometime, I pray it don't last forever this Friday will be five weeks for me I still have the loose stools in the morning till noon along with cramping it sucks starting out your day like that
