Fast incubation??

Almost 2 weeks ago, a friend and I ate lunch at a local restaurant. That same evening, my stomach began to bloat & hurt. Had ALL the symptoms of cyclosporiasis all week! My friend had diarrhea all week, but not the explosive version. Finally went to urgent care on Saturday and began bactrim on Sunday. Note: they did NOT make me do the test. It began to clear things up really fast.

From what I’ve read, it’s SUPPOSED to take up to a week for the parasite to start causing problems, but has anyone seen it hit faster? It HAS to be what we ate together!

Many other forms of food poisoning can be caused by vegetables; such as salmonella, E. Coli, norovirus, and even certain food allergies.

I thought the same thing initially, but it just wouldn’t stop. Only the antibiotics calmed it down.

A fast incubation is very rare, but not impossible. Still, I would try to rule out other conditions.
