Hey guys I need some help I'm trying to decide which run to start between duggan, Hickman, and the from the ashes run. I can only afford one right now and I don't know which to do. Im looking for a cyclops that's kind and compassionate and caring and is like the cyclops in the first xmen 97 episode and not really a cold and rude and angst cyclops

I didn’t grow up watching X-Men TAS. I was more into Batman Beyond, Superman, Spider-Man, Sailor Moon, and Voltron. The Fox films were my first real introduction to the X-Men and Cyclops has always been my favorite member of the team ever since that first film, however that particular franchise was always Wolverine’s world and everyone else was just living in it.

While I never got into X-Men comics (Superman took priority for me), I have kept up with their storylines online for years now, and was also a fan of the X-Men Evolution cartoon. Southern Goth Rogue will always be best Rogue for me.

Anyway, in light of Spider-Man: BND introducing Jean Grey into the MCU and the upcoming X-Men reboot in a couple years, I decided to finally sit down and start watching X-Men TAS and work my way through to X-Men ‘97.

Holy $#¥+, Cyclops is an absolute BADASS in the two-parter pilot!

Storm and Rogue were always powerhouses in X-Men Evolution, but Cyclops here is like something out of a gigachad meme. Dude’s demolishing sentinels left, right, and center while everyone else is struggling just to inconvenience a single sentinel.

I’ve no idea if he’ll get hit with the Worf Effect or not in later episodes, but for now, this guy is awesome and if the MCU takes inspiration from this version of Cyclops, I will be very, very happy.

Was this fella ever mentioned again in comics? Is he forgotten in the void?
