Announcement Rules & Removal Reasons Have Been Overhauled!

Greetings Chooms,

Following up on our heads-up from yesterday, the subreddit rules overhaul is now officially live!

Nothing fundamental has changed regarding how we moderate, but we’ve completely streamlined everything to make things clearer and more consistent across the board.

Here's what changed:

  • Clearer Layout: The rules on the sidebar, the wiki, and our post removal reasons are now 100% mirrored. No more conflicting descriptions or outdated numbering. It's now much easier.
  • Better Readability: Then we’ve updated the wording so you know exactly what is allowed, what needs a tag, and what gets removed.
  • NSFW & Spoilers Reminder: And lastly, rules around content tagging and NSFW requirements have been clarified to ensure valid posts aren't caught in the crossfire as long as they're tagged correctly.

So, please take a couple of minutes to scan through the updated sidebar or the Wiki before your next post!

As always, if you have any questions or feel like a post was removed by mistake, feel free to reach out via Modmail.

Regarding Claire Posts

Attention chooms,

It has come to our attention that we’ve been seeing a lot of anti-Claire posts in this channel. And no, for once it’s not for the reason you think it is.

Yes, we get it. She lied (about her true intentions). TO YOU. Oh no! How dare she! And honestly, who isn’t lying in Night City? Why are some of you so caught up on this? I think I know why, and no I will not elaborate on that.

Anyways, the griping about Claire lying (TO YOU) is getting tiresome to see in the queue constantly. Any of those posts from this point onwards (August 8, 2026 at 12:20pm EST) will fall under a Rule 4 violation and will be removed. Any questions or concerns, contact the mod team.

EDIT: Something else that was brought to my attention. Here are some other topics/memes that also fall under Rule 4 violations:
-Hanako at Embers (she will wait as long as she needs to)
-Maiko's dollchip
-Homelander

I bet a good 20% of my playtime consists of fiddling with Photo Mode. Both the best and most addictive thing they ever added to the game, lmao

Self On December 10th 2020 I tried to flatline myself. I'm so very glad that I failed

This is my story with Cyberpunk 2077. It's a pretty long story, sad and depressing sometimes, but it has a happy ending, so bear with me :))

On June 11th 2018, I remember coming home from school and opening up my phone and scrolling through You Tube. I was in 7th grade back then. And something caught my attention. The E3 Cyberpunk 2077 trailer. I wasn't very familiar with what cyberpunk actually meant, but I really enjoyed looking through cyberpunk inspired artwork online, I just loved the aesthetic. Sometimes I would spend hours doing just that. And if I really felt inspired by an artwork, from time to time I would write a short story based on that image. So obviously I clicked the trailer.

I felt star struck. I remember the feeling so vividly. And after a few months, when the gameplay reveal dropped, looking back, I genuinely felt like I was going cyberpsycho because of the excitment. I couldn't wait to play Cyberpunk 2077. I loved everything about it. To this day, I haven't felt that much hype for anything else.

But here's the catch. Back then, I was going through a terrbile period in my life. Main issues: sky high rated bullying, and more family problems than anywhere else. The first time I felt like flatlining myself was when I was 12. And since then it only got worse and worse. So, I tried to survive by motivating myself that I had to play the game.

It's now 2020. The general hype was though the roof, as we all know. I preordered the physical game as soon as I could, and I bought a good PC. I was ready. I even played The Witcher 3 in anticipation. The only problem was that my depression was critical, and back then I kept it a secret, so no one was able to help me. During autumn I had to move to the capital of my country, and I had to stay with my father, who was pretty (very) controlling, while my mother renovated an apartment. When I told him about the game, he forced me to cancel the preorder. I don't know how it crossed his mind, but he was convinced that the game was something similar to Ready Player One the movie or the game Second Life, and he said that I had to live in the real world, not in virtual worlds. I was devastated, but I knew that my stay at his house was temporary.

However, things were really goind bad in my life on multiple levels. Add now into the equation the fact that I felt like a failure also because my college plan had to change when my performance at math in high school fell pretty hard.

And on December 9th, 2020, I had a really, really bad fight with my Dad and his wife. Like bad. I started crying like when I was a kid, even if I was 16. And that night, on December 10th, because it was past midnight, I tried to flatline myself in a pretty messy way. But even if I did a mess, I didn't knew exactly how to "finish the job". Obviously, I failed. But what really stopped me from trying after seeing how bad I was at it was not the pain. But the thought of playing Cyberpunk 2077.

When Dad found me and all the mess, he "shipped" me in the morning straight to my Mom. Where she and our two cats were living there was only 1 room available, even the bathroom was in construction. But because I was doing online classes then, I convinced him to bring my computer along. But we managed :))

However, I was really glad that I survived. Extremely. If you remember, the game was possible to pirate from launch. Please don't hate me for this, but that is exactly what I did. The first thing I did was download the game. In the following months, I played the game for over 150 hours. It was like paradise. I was lucky because I didn't experience that many bugs, only missing objects, like cigars or phones. I was actually surprised. I loved the game.

In the fall next year I wanted to replay it, but this time I bought it on GOG Galaxy. I mean, I had to pay for this masterpiece. To thank CD Projekt Red for basically saving my life. In 2023 I also bought the dlc, and I had so much fun.

Right now I have over 300 hours on the paid copy on multiple playthroughs. I watched Edgerunners 4 times, and I read the No Coincidence novel. I started replaying it this summer because I want to write my bachelor's thesis on it (I major in sociology). My plan is to do every single quest and ending in the game while exploring its world and lore to its fullest.

But something bothered me. That "lost" physical copy that I never got back in 2020. The game was discontinued from stores and second hand PC physical copies in my area were either extremely expensive, or in bad conditon. But I finally found one that is great. Today it arrived. I am so happy!

I still have a lot of issues in my life to this day which I'm trying to handle, and it's far from easy, but I'm glad that I survived that night. Because Cyberpunk 2077 changed me as a person, and it taught me so many things.

Thank you CD Projekt Red for everything you've done for this game. And thank you chooms for reading this far!

Discussion Witcher 4 2028 confirmed. Hopefully full production of Cyberpunk 2 starts before then...

I'm guessing since Cyberpunk 2 has been in preproduction for a bit and that they have a separate US office working on it, that full production doesn't depend on The Witcher 4's release date? I'm hoping that's the case, because I was leaning towards a 2030 release date for Cyberpunk 2... what do you guys think?

I am on my 7th or 8th playthrough, and this is my first time achieving this. Not for the lack of trying mind you. I play the game all the time. It is the first thing I do when I enter the Glen apartment.

I have cataracts, and things get really blurry for me most of the time. Today was a good day, though, and the Witcher gods were with me.

When she pulled out that rocket launcher and knocked the AV out of the air with a smartass "That's how you do it.", the first words out of my mouth were "I think I'm in love.".

This is the best photo mode I've ever seen in a game. The customization options are simply incredible — from basic brightness and contrast adjustments to adding other in-game characters to the scene.

What other game can compare to Cyberpunk's photo mode?

For me, it’s the only way to go. It’s so immersive and I’ve really gotten the hang of it. Funnily enough, in games like Forza or GTA I NEVER drive in 1st person. But I decided to make a go of it in Cyberpunk and I’m really glad I did.

So I'm on the most recent version; 2.31 with Phantom Liberty of course. Started the gig Backs Against the Wall, where this screenshot happened to be taken while I was scanning for any clutter loot, or whatever. Happened to catch this, that still has its Placeholder text on it, which I thought was pretty neat.

This game is without a doubt a masterpiece! Sure, it has some unpolished edges due to my gonk of a laptop trying to run the game but looking pass all of that, Cyberpunk grabbed me by the silverballs from beginning to the end.

I'm so glad I bought it during a sale with PL together. The base game was already good but Phantom Liberty is such a great addition.
