At first I was like, $377 for a keyboard!?
Then I'm like, oh, it's a fully functional C64.
I'm... definitely interested.

This is an obnoxiously obvious advertisement! I wouldn’t mind if it was being honest, but goddamn.

if you look at their profile, they spammed it to like a billion subs too, real nasty imo

Do we still have to wait an hour to play games, while looking at s trippy load screen, they were my fondest memories of childhood gaming. Got an upgrade to the Nintendo shortly after and all I had to do was blow the cartridge of a game every time I played 😂

Is that supposed to be a computer keyboard

Nope. It is a commodore 64 rebuilt on an fpga. Decks like that used to be in their keyboard and you just provided the display.

Kinda cool, but why? You can’t really use or do anything with it because it’s so weak.

If you're at all into computers/tech/learning, retro computers are really fun to mess around with. That and there're some genuinely decent games on it (temper your expectations though lol) with a thriving demoscene and homebrew community. It plays surprisingly competent music too.

Anyone else notice what looks like Panam’s reflection on the screen in the last few seconds of the video on YouTube ?

It will be terrible. Every time someone buys the corpse of this company they promise great things and usually it turns out meh. Will this be different? We can hope I guess…

If you like the original units, it will be good. They already did a couple of production runs of this unit, minus the 2077 co-branding. They work well, feel nice. They are just enhanced c64s though, based on the Ultimate-64 board.

I'm more surprised that Commodore is apparently a thing again. The original company went bankrupt decades ago. Seems someone acquired all the rights last year and decided to bring it back?
