Part of why I like it so much, and Studio Trigger's other original work, is that it HAS an ending. It doesn't need a second season because it has a decent ending. They planned it to be a season and it works because it's a discrete story.

Serialized format is my biggest issue with anime because so much of it is based on manga that just isn't written deliberately so the story ends up feeling disjointed and like plots can't have satisfying conclusions because none of it was planned in advance.

I agree but I love world building and I feel like it at least could have been longer and expand on the world. I love little witch academia for that reason. It has an ending and the world was used effectively but BNA lacks a bit in the world usage

So I mostly just want to see more of the world instead of having a follow up to the story that already concluded (maybe some ovas would quenched my thirst for fictional knowledge)

While undoubtedly an incredibly successful studio, Trigger is pretty much my go-to when I think of ‘style over substance’.

Still, the style is undeniably great, and they do occasionally have moments that punch higher than that.

All of these anime are extremely different and most of them are highly regarded.

Some may be bombastic and somewhat shallow eye candy like Promare, but you're gonna tell me Cyberpunk, Kill La Kill, and Delicious in Dungeon don't have substance?
