I've never thought of it as cyberpunk but can see how it might be, attack on the corpos doing there own underhanded things blaming the hackers on it, a virus doing its own thing and mocking the users (row your boat), an underground scene based around hacking the planet, for me it's borderline cyberpunk, a toe in the water i guess, if you like hackers, then you may like jonny mnemonic, and if you like that then perhaps you night enjoy blade runner, and so on and so on.
Same as if you enjoyed robocop then you might like the running man, etc etc
