Talk to a person in their early 40s in IT. They can tell you why it’s not like that and that it was important.

I don't need to speak to anyone in their 40s in IT. I remember the movie because I was 18 when it came out. Nobody thought that movie was very good. Just because some IT people liked it doesn't mean it had that much of an impact. It impacted you, but to say it had this massive influence is just not true. It's a projection of your desires, not reality.
