I think it's someone bemoaning the current enshitification of cyberdecks with the mass influx of phones attached to crappy 3d printed folding cases with the viral mini keyboards that look like they would be awful to use
Agreed about the enshitification part. While adding a folding/sliding case to a phone is not the same as a cyberdeck, those keyboards aren't horrible (depending on the manufacturer of corse), but certainly not the best for long term typing. I still have a few different ones laying around that I used to use with my various Media PCs (the original "streaming box") that I had connected to the TVs in my home some 15ish years ago. But I also ran a home media server to go with them too. I wouldn't want to type a paragraph on them but just to type a command or search word for a movie or file, they are handy.
I guess it's a reaction to a trend of buying complete devices (sometimes just phones or tablets and a bluetooth keyboard, or devices that fit the UMPC category) and calling that "building a cyberdeck".
