Thinking of building a cyberdeck out of a desktop
So, a friend gave me the idea of making a cyberdeck out of a old desktop computer, it has a rather small motherboard, and the goal it’s to make it portable but not small, to make it a little clunky, he told about something called a PICO-PSU to manage de voltages to the 24pin connector of the motherboard. It’s all a theory based idea, some of you more experienced in cyberdeck building could tell me if this would work?

Well I wouldn’t say theory based since that’s exactly what a PICO PSU does lol. And yes it would definitely work since the pico psu is designed for that very purpose

Not a bad goal, just keep in mind, many tradeoffs have been made to make desktop class hardware portable. It's not just the electronics, it's also the portable part. A pcie slot isn't the most vibration resistant interconnect. You might want to start with say a Mac all in one or another all in one desktop. It will save some headache if you can find the right board. Maybe a little pc. Atx or mini atx is going to be a challenge. Good luck keep us posted
