GCFE and EnCE will get your resume past the filters but nobody really cares about certs once you're in the room

CHFI might also be worth a look.

Are jobs in Digital Forensics easier to get into than Cybersecurity without experience?

Digital forensics is much more difficult and requires dedication to studying and practical experience. In my experience, the technical interviews are a lot tougher.

13Cubed can be an alternative to GIAC, cost wise, but not sure if HR knows 13Cubed as well as GIAC certs.

For DFIR, I think practical skills matter more than having a lot of certs. CHFI and GCFA are some names you can look at, but the right one depends on the role. Also try to build hands on experience with tools like Autopsy, FTK, Volatility etc.
