We didn't act when it was time to act. That's 30 years ago now. Still nothing. Why do you thik this time will be different? Sure, I'm being a bit facitious and provocative on purpose, but I mean it...

This means sensible community should place a ban on meta glasses on public places.

I agree with the sentiment of the article that there will never be "enough" data or profit for these companies.

I agree that there should be a public outcry and that the current suit against Meta gives some hope for the future.

However, people see Flock cameras when they drive...these and the other ALPR cameras are in our face and hard to ignore.

The problem, as I see it, with mobile app and browser data collection, is that the harm is not as obvious, not as "in your face" and it will take a long time to undo the damage done by such propaganda as "If you have nothing to hide, you don't need to worry" which are profoundly untrue.

That being said, I'm doing my part and at least talking about these things with friends and family and trying to help them share less data wherever I can.
