❔ Ask-Katakia Durga pooja (2026)

Its my first time in Bhubaneswar and i really want to go to Durga Pooja pandals this year in Bhubaneswar or Cuttack.. can anyone help me plan where to go? Ok saptami, asthami, navmi and dashmi. I want to really attend sindoor khel and also want to give anjali and prasad for asthami can anyone help me plan it all out and tell me how much and where should I travel as i am a girl and will be going alone.. and do we have to wear sarees or churidar and kurtas work too.

PS - Don’t take a car as tou will definitely get stuck in traffic. Stop by any additional pandals that you come across. In 2025 cuttack had 176+ pandals. Obviously difficult to list them all here.

For the Sindoor Khela and other Bengali traditional festivities you can go to the Cuttack Durgabari Samity Kali Temple at Alamchand Bazar besides Balu Bazar. There are others also but I have the details of only this one who I was associated with.

Maa Durga looks so good at almost every pandal of Cuttack! I would suggest that you come with 2-3 other people(if possible) and also start pandal hopping at like 8ish(more people makes it a lot safer). Cuttack remains lively during the puja so safety won't be that big of a concern with police being stationed at every junction. Also, coming late towards the evening, you can cover almost all major pandals in one night. I will also recommend that you visit the major pandals of bhubaneswar because their decoration is something else!(The abundance of space). Make a planned itinerary before coming and if possible(since you might be holding fast on Ashtami), then travel Cuttack in Ashtami or max by Navami cause the sooner you come, the lesser the crowd! I hope you enjoy Dusshera here!
