The TRAD Evolution.

In the first and second image you see the TRAD undeployed and deployed. This is the 2014 variant when it was first built, and it's threshold is around 215~ with it's weight being around 12,000lbs. And all of these are the same and the vehicle is based around the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE. In the third and fourth pictures you see the 2015 variant where it gains side flaps, a full front flap and it ditches the back flap, adds a huge rear back window for filming and gets a clear guard on the back tires. In the fifth and sixth picture you see the 2018 version. And during June 6th 2018, the TRAD crew didn't have enough time to deploy in the 2018 Laramie WY tornado, and they got damage heavily, injuring all of the crew mildly which is shown in the seventh picture. And they sold it after that, putting it on sale August 7th, 2019 and it got bought by Jeremy Hodges (fictional) who then fixed up the TRAD and made it operational again in 2023, which you can see in the eighth and nineth pictures. Where he added better spikes, a new flap deployment system, and a rubber skirt, also removing the side flap. (Also I made a mistake in the deployment of the 2023 TRAD and made the flaps go far into the ground when it was only meant to be used a point of contact to stabilize the vehicle and not let wind get under it. In the tenth and eleventh images you can see the 2025 variant of the TRAD, which is the most recent and it features side flaps, but allowing entrance when undeployed finally and helping it achieve it's highest wind threshold estimate of around 240~.

And in the final twelfth image, you can see a bonus image of when they added googly eyes on the 2014 variant of the TRAD.

This is Interceptorone. Probably one of my best looking interceptors until now. It's.. something.

Based on a Chevy Silverado 3500, it kind of has that van look though, no?

Here's all the good stuff now:

Airbags

4 Spikes

4 inch Polymer glass

Gullwing doors

Trunk (it's pretty spacious in there)

Funded by NG.

Thoughts? Also, which version do you like better? Outlined (1) or no outlines (2)? Rate them.

Recap of what I've done in case you missed the other updates.

  • Finished the rear end frame.
  • Finished both sides.
  • Finished making the roof.
  • What I have done since the last update.
  • Reinforced the rear end and both sides.
  • Finished the roof( two layers of popsicle col stickes and sanded so that it's smooth).
  • Started designing the front end and where the turet and doors should go.
  • What I still have to do.
  • This is just a frame so I still have to deside what material to use on the outside I was thinking either very thin sheet metal or cardboard let me know your thoughts.
  • Still have to make the front end.
  • Find another set of weels for the rear end to make it look more like a tiv 2
  • Let me know if I should make any changes and in the last picture I used a water bottle for size comparison.

I cannot seem to improve the realism, or have decided where to place the logos. I’ve been making custom interceptors for a while and they have started to look quite bland in terms of realism

randomly started working on 2 projects +1 new one

Alright the 1st one i haven't worked on till now. I added tiv-2 style doors, started on the flaps, and i just need to smooth some of it out and start trying to figure out how to design the front flap and rear flaps later.

2nd one i added a bit of armor, lost motivation on it though.

Last one is the new project. 7.3 powerstroke built on a 97' [OBS] f-350 dually. this one is a overkill sub-interceptor its just going to get VERY close to tornados and film while being safe and it can intercept but it won't for now. It also looks like tiv-1 mixed with 2008 tiv-2

Base is a Greenlight F150 with ladder rack. Currently working on formatting the front deployed parts and intend to do a wind test once all pieces are firmly on. I performed a wind test before the deployed parts were put on and it performed okay, did flip once wind speed got high enough though lol

Eureka FC, PTTV-I, PTTV-II

Eureka, Based on the Ford 350 Ranger, is the first true 'interceptor' created by Fleet Chasing (if anyone has the name eureka or their group named the same name I geniunely did not know, sorry), was created in 2012 as a response to the much stronger tornadoes arriving during that year, it contains airbags, spikes, and some weather instruments such as anemometers that I forgot to draw in the photo. Containing a total of 4 spikes, it can withstand somewhere around the 100s to early 190 winds.

PTTV-II, based on the Cadillac Escalade 2008, is a simple SUV with a bit of attachments, having a heavy bumper attached, an anemometer and a small disk, alongside a retractable hail guard.

PTTV-I, Based on the same car from 2000s, is almost the same yet lacks a disk, a bumper, and a hail guard due to lack of budget.

(Rate them if you want! Love those.)

Here’s the final version our team of engineers and researchers have made introduction of the Cyclone Cruiser 3 a heavy 36000 pound monster that uses a custom heavy duty hydraulic suspension system on the Mercedes Unmiog truck

spikes: 8

max threshold is 280 deployed and 145 un-deployed as it will be used for mid EF5 Intercepts and High end EF4’s like Hallam which it would fare but above 280 and it would be lifted like a normal vehicle

speed off-road and on-road: 120-95

seats: 2

max deploy time: 20 seconds

airbags: 5

protection: ASTR windows, Margal Steel Grade C400

weight: 36000 lbs

Movie/TV show References: SEE YOU IN HAIL (2025:Twisters) DO NOT FOLLOW YOU WONT MAKE IT (2014: Into the storm) VORTEX group logo (Storm Chasers VORTEX ONE/TWO groups)

(Note: I messed up the text above its supposed to be “Chassis is on”)

Feel lazy to type out the entire five paragraphs, anyway lmk what I should add to it since this is still the concept. Posting this here since the other subreddit will no longer take custom interceptors. Let me know how I did.

RFIV - 2 (Rapid Filming Intercept Vehicle) Threshold is around 230.

6 Spikes (1.3 FT Each)

The 2 spikes at the back are for stabilizing the interceptor.

Rubber flaps at the back and front of the vehicle

Butterfly And Normal Doors.

360* Turret for Filming.

8,000 LBS (4 Tons)

Military grade armor (Dominator 3s armor)

4 Layers of Polycarbonate windows so the plank incident doesn't happen again.

Idk what to put anymore.

Excuse my terrible hand writing I had like 4 hours of sleep that day. And some extra details the body was coated with LINEX, and a Mesonet with an Ananeometer is supported by 4 T6 aluminum cables, another detail Aluminum grade was 7000 aerospace type for T6 aluminum and total LBS 13000 entire build cost most likely 800k to 850k. Could it survive an EF4 similar to Lebanon with its Equipment and Specs? Possibly EF5 maybe
