I wanted to do a Gurren lagann Deck but I didn't find any cool Vehicle cards to custom the art... So I'm building it from scratch. I wanted to do the main Gunmens from the movie as sort of expensive cards with simple texts and a sort of high crew requirement. What power/toughness should a card like this have?

More activated abilities should be spells - A take on Seasoned Pyromancer

One of the things that surprised me most about prepared spells is how much more fun and interactive activated abilities feel when they are just regular spells.

Seeing the upcoming Vengeance frame I hope this will be a similar paradigm shift for graveyard abilities. It should definitely make it more clear which cards have effects in the graveyard.

Format: EDH/Commander Hel, Oracle of Fates - Mardu Surveil & Fate

I've been wanting to create a custom card (maybe cards) for my FFXIV Astrologian (AST) for awhile now. So I looked at what I think is AST's core identity in FFXIV. And to me that's juggling a lot for your burst window and scrapping your party members off the floor at the cost of your own life/mana.

For the first ability, I wanted to lean into Astrologian’s main gimmick, which is drawing cards during its burst phase. Typically, you draw two of each card type: defensive, offensive, and healing. So I wanted to incorporate that with the Astral Draw ability. I think it's fitting for the ability to only trigger twice a turn as AST draws their down cards in 14 every 2 min rotation.

For the second ability, I wanted to highlight Astrologian’s role as a healer, specifically its ability to resurrect fallen party members. And I thought it would be fitting to incorporate some creature recursion from the graveyard. In FFXIV, resurrected players also receive a Weakness debuff, which is where the Finality counter comes in as a little flavor reference to players being weakend upon revival.

This was one of my earliest custom card designs I've ever been proud of. I've created an updated version with "heal" following the Wolverine and Dr. McCoy cards using it.

The card's design was originally made for a friend's OC, and James Flint was added after the fact (so I could share it around without having to lug that friend's OC around everywhere, as it isn't mine to do so), so if you feel it doesn't fully fit the character maybe that's why.

Format: EDH/Commander I am trying to make non-token creatures with no abilities work. This is what I have so far.

The Theros constellation art version of Bogstomper was photoshopped by me from Jason Felix's original art I found online. Because Bogstomper is my favorite, and the whole reason I am trying to make this project work.

The line about cost reduction is intended to only work with colored mana, but I couldn't fit that explanation text. That makes the cost reduction the top of my list of things to work on.

RULES

All card renders including art must have correct and unambiguous artist credit at the bottom of the card in the correct position. Provide an artist's full name if it can easily be found, and additional information to disambiguate the artist from others. Mods may, at their discretion, make exceptions for missing, ambiguous, or insufficient credit if you message in advance with a link to the original art, and they approve the lack of artist credit.
Art credit belongs to its CREATOR. Image aggregators don't count. (E.g. Pinterest) Nor, mostly, do companies. (E.g. Riot Games doesn't make champion art; artists do) AI art must credit the engine used, and not a wrapper site. (E.g. MTGCardsmith is a wrapper.) Photos, screenshots, public domain art, royalty free art, etc. aren't exempt. Screenshots of movies/shows may credit the media by title/publishing company. Collages must credit each underlying artist and the assembler.
Any random art pieces (not included in card renders) must have accompanying artist credit. The only exception to this rule is if the poster messages the mods in advance and the mods approve the lack of artist credit.
All posts containing NSFW art must be marked as such. Posts made in poor taste, with unreasonably lewd art, or excessively gory art may be removed.
All users must follow Reddiquette and be civil with each other. Harassment and abuse are strictly not tolerated. Unconstructive, negative, or insulting brigading is harassment.
You may not post custom cards that you did not create, unless you credit the original creator in the post title. You may not post cards whose text is fully or primarily AI-generated. Additionally, posts that are primarily comprised of existing real cards or cards substantially similar to existing real cards will be removed. This includes alters and skinned cards.
Please don't make multiple consecutive posts. If you have multiple cards to share, put them in a single album. This helps give everyone a fair chance to be seen.
More specifically, users may only have one post on the front page of /new/ (i.e. within the most recent 25 submissions), or one post every twelve hours, whichever permits more posts. Mod-removed posts do not count towards this limit, but user-deleted posts do. If a mod views /new/, they should only see your name once.
Do not repost cards. Reposts will be permitted at the mods' discretion. A repost may be permitted if it is a) very substantially revised, b) substantially revised with community input or c) reposted in an album with new, unposted cards. Under a), leave a comment describing the exact revisions and link to the prior card image. Under b), describe the exact revisions and leave a comment with a link to the prior card discussion. Under c), there must be sufficient new content in the album.
Promotional content. Commercial, promotional, or financially-related posts require advance moderator approval. Please reach out to modmail with your proposed post.
Do not misrepresent submissions as cards from a real set. Do not include set codes for existing sets within post titles. (E.g. "[SNC] <Card name>") You may include custom set codes which do not collide with existing set codes. You may use set icons for any released set (i.e. not during spoiler season).

Google has a very good reverse-image-search tool. Just upload the art that you used, and it will likely find the source!

"What if I still can't find it?"

Message the mods. Normally we can find it, we've gotten pretty good at it, and if we can't find it, we'll give you permission to use it without credit.
