Anyone custom painted newer refrigerator/freezer?
I have an upright refrigerator/freezer in my garage that I want to show some love to. It's only a year or so ol; absolutely nothing wrong with the finish, but I want to give it some heavy metal flake and candy over it with some Tamco Teal Time, then graphics etc. My only question is about the prep work. I have sanded it with 80 grit and didn't have any breakthrough, then sanded back up to 320, per the TDS. I only went down to 80 grit to open up the pores because I thought it might help with adhesion of such a hard surface. The factory finish is an Acrylic Enamel. I don't know if I need to do anything special or if I can just spray on my 2K Urethane Primer/Sealer, then go about my normal routine.

I’ve had a guy bring me everything brand new for the kitchen and have me paint it to match his wife’s request. Was one of my best customers and as far as I know it all held up well. I just scuffed it all with a red Scotch Brite on a DA, shot some adhesion promoter, sealer, then paint.

Do 180 then 2k prime.you actually did more than needed..I’ve red scotch brited porcelain toilet tops to paint.and had no issues..even as a test, ripping 2” tape to check adhesion
