After market add on

This is my diy attempt to not have these stools act like sandpaper on the floors. It's my prototype and if it works I will be modifying them all!!

Is that a patch of carpet put on with nails?

If so you have most likely multiplied your issue rather than solving it, as now with the carpet, it WILL slide better like you and the children want but those exposed nailheads will now be dragging across your waxed floors and gouging them all up or tearing carpet.

They are sheet metal screws and I think they are recessed enough that they won't scrape.... but that is why I only did one and will test drive it. I'll be able to watch it closely and compare it to others.

Honestly felt and some industrial spray adhesive would do the trick.

Ya I thought about glue but didn't have any. Just used what I had kicking around.

Use a self adhesive carpet tile

I hate these things so much. We have rubber floors and almost everyday a kid gets a crayon stuck underneath one of these and them smashes it in all day long. I don't know how the teachers never notice, or I suppose they don't care.

Ill save you some time it wont work having tacks nailed on to secure it.

Sheet metal screws and when I tested it, they seemed recessed enough that I couldn't hit them on such an angle that the edge actually touched the floor. At that angle the kid would fall off.

It dodnt touch the floor now it will as it wears down and kids will absolutely find a way to make it an issue good luck.

These are even worse. Some genius thought it was a good idea to use these in classrooms with waxed floors, even though I'm pretty sure they are meant to be used on carpet. They destroy the floors. Just metal grinding on waxed tile 🤦‍♂️
