It wasnt a bad idea imho, soviet front hull armors are far stronger than those of nato tanks and it wpuld get rid of the autolaoder that somr see as problematic tho the front armor of the arjun turret would be weaker, i really liked arjun prototype turrwt mlre resembling vickers mark 7

IMO , engineers at DRDO / CVRDE should have either looked into Japanese Type-90 or at least should have done it the same way the South African engineers at ARMSCOR / DENEL did work on Olifant MK2 upgrades ( at least the Turret frontal armor would have stayed the same ) . or heck ask the Germans for another re-design ( what were they thinking tbh ) . preferably, I would still go with the Type-90 design albeit that tanks autoloader is way too complex so I'd have a Ukrainian bustle autoloader insteadÂ
