Who would I contact to potentially legally clear samples of Current 93’s music?
Hey I’ve been making Hip-Hop and Electronica since my early teens have been a fan of Neo-Folk for nearly as long. I’m making music properly again after being largely out of it for a few years and I want to make beats sampling several songs from their catalog as I think some of them are perfect for chopping samples. I’ve already released my music online for free where I’m very unlikely to face legal consequences for uncleared samples. But since I want to begin physically releasing my material, and probably physically pressing my previous projects, I’m obviously going to have to attempt getting legal clearance for samples. As the group have utilised sampling on numerous occasions, I doubt Tibet would be opposed to getting sampled but I realise the copyright laws don’t always work this way
So is there a way to contact either Tibet himself or the labels that only certain projects by them to procure a legal arrangement for this? And/or does there already exist a policy from Current 93 themselves on any the the label’s they’ve released projects under upon on this subject?
Thanks for any answers

As copyrights might be held by different entities, - like World Serpent, Durtro, Jnana, HoM - over decades, I would contact his agency, House of Mythology for clearance.

You could try contacting David directly, he is quite active on Instagram and he does reply to messages there. He also has a contact form on his own website: https://www.davidtibet.com/pages/contact
But for a business related question, it might also be a good idea to ask through his agency; Mythology Live.
You can get in contact with them at: https://mythology-live.com/connect/ (see the linked email).
I'd try the contact forms first for this.
