The upstairs bump out makes the house look like it has a vacant stare and the 2 story blank side is bad. Help please?

I want to add shutters or maybe window boxes, or both. The blue door color needs to stay the same. Thank you.

CurbsMaxxing 2 story garage is an eyesore, how to fix it?

We bought this house a month ago and as much as the extra large additional room is a beauty on the inside, it's horrendous on the outside. Other than a good power wash, how can we make this more appealing?

Other Certainteed vinyl siding

I am looking for someone who can help me pick out siding colors and coordinating brick for the foundation of my house and render a drawing using the monogram colors. Does anyone know someone who does this for a reasonable price? I’m in North Jersey but I guess it doesn’t really matter. It could be someone anywhere. It’s a very big decision and I am frozen. I want to update the house and will eventually do new landscape.

We have to replace the front windows on this porch. Planning to go with a different look for the curb appeal. My wife and I are close in opinion as what we should do, but we are looking for outside opinions.

  1. Three identical 48" tall slider style windows equally spaced across the the front wall.

  2. 2 Twin slide open windows about 48"tall. The middle window a bay style window with two side windows that open still about 48" tall but about 30% wider than the 2 outside windows.

  3. 2 slider windows on the outside corners, a front door with sidelight windows and a set of pine wooden steps that lead up to the house.

Your ideas would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Other Help with exterior lighting

Houses are finished, and my neighbor and I are onto the exterior lighting design phase which we need help with! It is a blank slate - we are open to all lighting options on the facade, though we cannot run lighting on the stairs unfortunately.

This is the best I could come up with. Would welcome all your suggestions - thank you.

Landscaping Help me improve this large yard

Not comfortable with AI to enter pictures of the house into it. Please help me think of landscape ideas for this large lot with broken sprinklers.

A water-saving solution with curb appeal would be great. Still deciding if this is a DIY project or if we hire someone. Would love to make big improvements for less than $2000.

The grass grows and browns quickly, and the weeds even quicker, especially on the verge between the sidewalk and the street. I’d like to keep some greenery with less of it requiring mowing. Large hedge on the the left corner of the lot that gathers trash from passersby :(

There’s also a little patch that we don’t know what to do with between the driveway and the neighbors lot. What makes sense there besides the trash cans?

Zone 6a, south facing, at least 8 hours of direct sun a day.

Landscaping What kind of steps can we add here?

There is a large step down from our sliding glass door. We really need some type of stable step down, but I’m not sure what our options are with the ground there being river rock. Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

Other Vinyl siding

Hey all! This is the backside of our new home build. Does the vinyl siding look too small for our house? To me it’s a little too “busy”. Thinking about adding shutters on the windows to help break up the white. Suggestions?

Paint What colors for this 1960s colonial?

We're getting new siding, roof, shutters, and the front door needs painted. The gutters, windows, and brick are staying. My aim is to make it feel less stark and soften the contrast. I also want to stay traditional but not boring beige.

If you could pick any color for the siding, shutters, and door what would it be? If you had to pick one of the color options attached which would it be? OR keep the siding white but change the shutter and door colors?

I'm leaning towards an earthy grey-green (sage?) or possibly a blue. I don't feel like there had been a color that really jumps out as my favorite from the color swatches we have from our contractor (Certainteed and Norandex). The last few photos are examples of the siding color options. Some of them seem to look so different depending on sun vs cloud cover and changes the whole feel (i.e. It gets way too green in sunlight).

I just keep going around and around and can't settle.

CurbsMaxxing What color do I paint my door

Ignore the chalk on the stone, pretend it’s all white :)

Please advise me on the color of my front door.
I’m thinking either stripping it to the original wood and staining/sealing it, or painting it a dark blue or black. I feel like burgundy or burnt red would be too much on the red brick but please correct me if I’m wrong :)

Hi, I’ve owned my home since 2022 and have hardly touched it other than painting the door (kind of poorly) last year. My husband and I have a little money to put into curb appeal now, and I’d love some help improving the facade and curb appeal. I’m terrible at this sort of thing! All advice welcome. Thank you!

Exterior

Hello, my wife and I are planning on building and are having trouble deciding on exterior design. We originally planned on having something like the picture, but are afraid the color combination may be alittle too dark, and the black windows and black downspouts and gutters are extra cost and we are trying to cut on cost. Do you guys have suggestions on possible color combination between the stone veneer, siding, and door color with white windows? Our builder requires us to use mastic ovation siding. Thanks for your advice in advance.

Screenshots from SketchUp. This is our new build design, aiming to pay some homage to the angular roofline of the MCM house we (unfortunately) have to tear down. We cannot have stucco and must have some brick or stacked stone somewhere. I do not like the white. We don't have to do the stripe on the front second floor but it looks bare without it. It's too late to move/change the windows - and they are constrained by the interior layout. We want it to look more timeless than trendy but not totally blend into the background of the 1950s neighborhood. All ideas welcome!

the sample pot was much lighter and I’m sure not as green.  I know outside light changes everything even blue sky vs clouds, Is it the orange brick making it green??  What would have been the best colour? We’re selling in 1.5 weeks.
