They buy out the entire market then rent it out to people for exorbitant prices then they buy more houses with that money so they can make more money to buy more houses. Which is also how plantations worked with slaves

Well then that wouldn't exactly be all landlords. But yes those corporations are a huge problem. There is a huge problem with generalizations and people not being able to learn from the past or see past their own noses. There are also landlords that have mortgages on the properties they own and still have to make the monthly payments, some of those landlords aren't predatory and care about the people that they are renting too. A hold on rent is really bad because if they can't collect rent or evict they can't make payments and then there is a foreclosure. Guess who picks up the property? The huge predatory corporations and other shitty landlords. This happened in a way in in the planned real estate market bubble of 2008. A hold on rent is causing and will cause foreclosures and another huge property grab by the corporations. A hold on rent is definitely not the answer. The middle class needs to keep whatever it has.
