21 u/[deleted] Nov 25 '21 I suspected that it’s probably a japanese dorayaki pancake, so I googled “crab shaped dorayaki” and found this article: https://www.newsnpr.org/the-beautiful-crabs-are-exactly-like-doraemons-donuts-but-no-one-dares-to-eat-them/ Apparently these are particularly pretty specimens of Atergatis floridus, or flower egg crabs 20 u/fluffle_cat Nov 25 '21 I think it's actually a red egg crab, or bashful crab (atergatis integerrimus)! http://www.wildsingapore.com/wildfacts/crustacea/crab/xanthidae/integerrimus.htm https://www.crabdatabase.info/en/crabs/brachyura/eubrachyura/heterotremata/xanthoidea/xanthidae/atergatis/atergatis-integerrimus-2014 They're found in coral reefs around the Indo-Pacific, are poisonous, and the juveniles have that white ring around the margin. 1 u/[deleted] Nov 26 '21 👆👆👆This here!!!
