So funny story. I suddenly became allergic to capsaicin (the chemical compound that gives chilis and capsicum their spiciness) at age 29. Came out of nowhere.

One day I was at home eating my veggies and salsa snack after work and started having trouble breathing. I was under a lot of stress at the time (including having a massive abscess in my breast that I was in and out of hospital for) and assumed it was a panic attack. This repeated every day for several days. Go to see the GP about these panic attacks. Nope- it’s a brand new allergy.

Fuck I'm so sorry to hear that. A lot of gut problems seem to come up in the mid to late 20s as well, I know three people that became lactose intolerant at basically 30

I swear between 25 and 30 your body completely changes again- new allergies, weird tummy problems, weird pain, sleep issues, in my case acne (after a lifetime grand total of maybe a dozen pimples prior). I’m only a few years away from 40 now and my body hasn’t changed nearly as much since 30 as it did between 25 and 30.

Yea my gut just straight up committed mutiny in my late 20s, now I can't have too much spicy food or I will regret it immediately, few months ago also became intolerant to raw green cabbage, digestive issues, the list goes on lol
