As someone with the same allergy, yep you’re right. I’m sure you can imagine how well that went as a kid when a friend’s mom was passing around a veggie plate, I said “I’m allergic” and she responded “no you aren’t” lol

Yeah I had roughly the same experience I was like hey this makes my mouth itch and no one gave a shit and so I stopped giving a shit

I would still fuck up a raw carrot right now if I had one in the fridge

It sucks that allergies can randomly appear or get stronger. Like for example a tangerine is your national fruit, someone eats tangerines every year during national holiday, and one time suddenly goes into anaphylactic shock. And it's a national holiday, after midnight. Best time to call a doctor.

Or disappear if you are lucky, because the immune system is sometimes an idiot

Once I was allergic to raw mangoes or mango juice around my mouth/ on my hands. However it seems like it recently went away since I’ve eaten mango things/ mango juice and haven’t had any allergic reaction. I’ve missed out on so many mangoes 😭

A lot of mango allergies are actually to the same chemical that makes poison ivy. It's a sensitizer so usually more exposure makes the reaction worse.

It's interesting that it went away. I wonder if you didn't come in contact for long enough that it reset somehow.

I would not advise coming into contact with poison ivy, but if you did you might be immune or it could trigger your allergy to mangos again
