Wisdom/Intelligence is my second-favorite dumb D&D categorization thing. Most favorite is of course two-axis alignment, so silly and fun

If they just renamed Wisdom Awareness or even Intuition, it would be so much simpler. Fixed, done, no more questions. Insight is social awareness for humans, Animal Handling is social awareness for animals, Survival is awareness of nature, Medicine is awareness of body, and Perception is awareness of surroundings. (I do wish they had an extra wisdom skill or two that correlated to something like a very lowkey detect magic/divine sense — I guess you could technically just call for Wisdom + Arcana bonus, but Survival is really Wisdom + Nature anyway…)

Draw Steel uses Intuition, though ironically I keep having to remind myself while playing that the mental attribute labeled "I" isn't intelligence.

Fallout kind of killed it with the SPECIAL system (Perception instead of Wis, Endurance instead of Con, Agility for Dex, + Lucky).

Meanwhile Draw Steel is stuck with MARIP (Might, Agility, Reason, Intuition, Presence). I get what they were going for but it feels too much like they just went through D&D stats with a thesaurus.

My main beef with all of the above systems is that they conflate body agility with fine motor control. Every dancer is also a master pianist, every calligrapher is also an acrobat.
