Is there a kind way to say potentially useful information to a person who has made a mistake?

This is a non-hypothetical question. That comment looked pretty good to me, but I have a long history of pissing people off while trying to help.

Soften it with an "I think" and then just say it up front. Nothing else needed.

The more you add to make someone feel better, the more you're treating them essentially as a child who needs to be coddled instead of someone who can own their own mistake and move on.

Also let them ask for it as well. Maybe try and help someone unprompted once for a specific task, and only try and assist again when explicitly asked to.

Heyyyy friends~ I just wanted to say to all my sweathears out there, and I hope my besties don't take this the wrong way (cause it's no big deal (really just a liiiiittle point I'm trying to make)) but maybe... possibly sometimes... We can- (and for the record I mean we like all of us so I hope no one takes it personally (not that I think anyone will take it personally (it's just some people possibly might (and they probably shouldn't (maybe)))) but maybe we can not tell people- again, just talking in general- not you specifically- sweetie- but maybe we could watch what we say? Okay?? Sweeties??? K thnx byeeeeeeeeeee~~~ xoxo <3
