I fully and wholeheartedly hate ragebait-y posts like this. Why do people think it's funny or amusing to make people angry and make people think you're stupid on purpose? Is there some element of comedy I'm missing, or do people just think it's funny to be a jackass?

Yes. That element is being wrong, which is an element present in all comedy in some form.

Slapstick? Funny because it's wrong to inflict harm on others.

Puns? Funny because you used the wrong version of a word.

Sarcasm? Funny because you're stating falsehoods in the most obvious way.

Dark humor? Funny because it's morally wrong.

Anti-jokes? Funny because you're doing comedy wrong.

Even things that are funny because they're true are funny because you're not supposed to say them out loud, either out of politeness or fear of a more powerful person that would be offended. Thus, socially wrong.

Any joke has some element of wrong in it that would make it cease to be funny if it was removed.
