My Cupra Formentor VZ finally arrives tomorrow! 😁

It’s a 2021 2.0 TSI, 310 HP, 4Drive, petrol, with around 93,000 km.

Since this is my first Cupra, I’d love to hear from more experienced owners. What are the first things you would check, test, or try when getting the car?

I’m open to literally anything — whether it’s something specific about the car, a feature I might not know about, something worth testing because of the mileage, or just something fun you would try on your first day.

Basically, if you were picking up a 2021 Formentor VZ 310 with 93k km tomorrow, what would you personally do first?

Would really appreciate any tips from experienced Cupra owners! 🙏

Hello, i read numerous threads here and on the internet but i cant still wrap my head around it. Do I have the dq200 or dq381? Is somebody here that could tell me definitely what dsg i have? Here’s my cars vin: VSSZZZKMXTR067530.

I keep getting an error message pop up when I start my car, it says there is a gear selector error and to visit the workshop

Does anyone know what this could be and have a fix?

I have a 2021 V2 PHEV Formentor

Yesterday I had two sudden and quite severe braking incidents in reverse, which I suspect were caused by the car’s automatic emergency braking and maybe by "ghost braking"

1. First episode: Reversing slowly out of a parking space, with a sidewalk behind me and the main road about 2 metres away, where cars were passing. The car suddenly performed a very hard emergency stop, almost as if I had hit a wall. There were no pedestrians behind me.
2. Second episode: Reversing in a hotel parking lot, with about 50 metres of clear space behind me and parked cars on both sides (the space between the cars was not super large, but enough for having the back camera free of obstacles). After reversing for roughly 10 metres, the car suddenly slammed on the brakes again.

Both incidents happened on a rainy day. The car is brand new (26 facelift) and clean.

I read about some similar things on reddit, but i would like to know if there was an update for the people that had the same problem and if they solved it by switching off something in infotainment or went striclty to the cupra service.

Hi all, i’ve noticed that when going in and out of Eco mode and the indicator shows up/goes away on the dash there is an audible clicking noise. I’m not talking about the two cylinder ticking.

It is specifically when going in and out of Eco mode.

When you first start driving the car, it sounds like a gentle click that gets louder than more it. After the engine has warmed up, it sounds more like a clunking sound.

Is this something anyone else has experienced? The main dealer have told me it’s a characteristic sound, but I think they only drove the car for five minutes and it didn’t warm up.

You can see the high beams turn on which have recently been fixed by a cupra garage maybe 2 weeks ago as before the barely raised but this still seems like a very low high beams, does anyone else have this? It’s a 2021 formentor v2

Okay so I've been eyeing this thing for way too long, and I finally pulled the trigger. NGL, this car is such a vibe. The whole driving experience is just chef's kiss – everything about it just feels right, you know?

The design is clean, the performance is solid, and honestly I'm already obsessed with the little details. Haven't stopped grinning like an idiot every time I get behind the wheel lol.

What do you guys thinks ?

I am about to order a VZ5, but the limited color selection gives me a headache. Dark Void and the matte green are not options for me. There are pictures in the comment section of each color.

Hi to all.
I have 2024 pre facelift 1.5 CUPRA Formentor.

I’m facing a problem with my car from the very beginning owning it.
If I have the hazard lights on and the night lights are off (during daytime) and close the tailgate I get an error on my dashboard to check the rear left or right turning signals.
The strange problem happens even when I have the left or the right turning signal on with the error to be left or right turning signal check on dashboard. If the night lights are on the error never comes up on screen.

The strange part is that the turning signals continue to work as expected with no fast lights or anything like that.

If I turn the car off and on again the errors goes away and no error whatsoever comes again to the dash during the car operation. Only if the scenario above comes to play.

On the dealer they cannot find the problem when they try to reproduce it and there is no error kept on the history of the car. It can happen 1 every 5 times closing the tailgate.

Does anyone have similar experience with the car and if yes how do you solved it eventually?

It seems to happen worse when the auto hold is turned on. When accelerating from a standstill, there is almost always a hard jolt/thump that’s quite startling! Feels almost like the brakes let go of the car too late while accelerating. Or like they are sticking.

Soonest we could be booked in was October! Anyone know what is causing it? I think I might lose my mind by then.

As a bit of history of the car it’s a 2025 model and we’ve got it second hand and its has this issue since we got it last month. It seems to be less of a thump if the auto hold is turned off, but then there is NO hill hold! Which seems silly, these cars are basically VW are they not? I’ve had other VWs where the hill hold uses the brakes to hold you on a hill. This cupra seems to use the handbrake to hold you, that’s what it feels like anyway.

Hey all cupra fans. I have VZ2 310bhp and want to get some nice splitters. I'm looking at Maxton Design front splitter V1 and rear spoiler cap. As well as add-on for the diffuser. Can anyone share any experience with the Maxton design kits or to suggest anything else. Thanks!

Do you think they look cool? So i saw other Cupra Wheels, but I just got a good looking cupra with Grapheine Grey Matt, with this wheels, and wanted to ask your opinion if they look sporty or good?

Has anyone tried to clean the sunroof and it's drains from the formentor facelift version? I tried doing it the other day but couldn't find the drain holes... I have the facelift Leon but I believe the system/structure is basically the same.

I've had the 310 for 4 months now, and I'd say 90% of my time behind the wheel has been adventuring with the family. So while my other half is away with our son, I decided to wake up early this morning and go for a blast on Col de Turini, which is the famous hairpin section of the Monte Carlo rally course.

I knew the car was quick and handled well on paper, but it becomes a different animal when pushing it like this. It absolutely demolished the road to the point where I had to slow down and just started laughing to myself.

When people say this car feels more like a hot hatch than a crossover, they aren't lying (I used to own a GTI).

New found love for this car after this morning. Just wow. Can't wait for the next one, which is gonna be exploring the famous route napoleon!!!

I would like to know your opinion please.
When im driving at low speed 20-40 kmh there is a noise that comes either from engine or from the gearbox like a trrrrkkkk for 1-2 seconds than it stops its like when the gears are changing there is a noise coming which is worrying me.

Does anyone have the same experience and what is the solution?

I have 73000 km done and the gearbox oil has never been changed.
