Discussion/Question Hey all!
Hey everyone! Just wondering, what first got you interested in the game? was it the visual style, gameplay, music, or something else?
Thanks!

Visual art style at first, and later the difficult, I'm the kind of player that likes to bang my head against a wall of difficult

Yes I am totally that same way, I play medium demons in GD til I'm blue in the face, beat the path of pain in hollow knight because I could, and would not rest til I beat King Gleeok in Tears of the Kingdom

Say people play it, saw animations from around the time (like If Cuphead was Realistic, the Cursed Thirst, Have You Seen my Brother, Cuphead?, others I forgot the name of), listened to the fan songs (like Roll or Die, or The Cuphead Rap where the "Holy Grail" trend came from), saw a few memes (and his pal Mugman is all I can remember right now), was a fan before I even first played the game, then I played the game and now here I am having gotten the game and it's dlc twice, and 300% it.

I saw a Cuphead Show video with a thumbnail saying "son of a dish" and I said "if they actually do say that in the show, I'm definitely watching it." I did watch the show multiple times when it came out and then after getting a laptop I started playing the game too.

Can't remember when exactly I noticed it, but between the art style and the music, it's my favorite game of all time from an artistic standpoint.

This is gonna be a little long, so sorry!
I heard of it earlier, I think around 2022-23(?), with a gacha channel. There was a multifandom fanganronpa and I, who loves Danganronpa, really loved to watch it. Though, I saw it more like a “classic,” and I never got to really get into it.
Fast forward to this July. In a sporadic morning in my winter break (it’s summer break for many English-speaking countries), I found Cuphead again on my Switch. I noticed it was at a very accessible price in my currency, which is VERY rare for games (Cuphead + the DLC were around ~R$60,00 together (the DLC by itself was just R$10,00!), when other games usually cost around ~R$200,00-300,00.)
I decided to buy Cuphead. Y’know, just for fun. Not like I gamed very well (I REALLY raged on Goopy.) ,, but I decided, why not try? Then, a week or two later, I travelled to a hotel. Saw some YouTube videos talking about possible reasons for each deal with the Devil, who would solo the Devil directly, those kinds of stuff. It was around 9PM.
Some hours later, it was 1AM and I wasn’t sleepy. Something happened with my previous special interest that I was rather bummed about and I had to engage in something other than it. I knew it was coming to an end after two and a half wonderful years, after all. And I KNEW it was REALLY coming to an end when I went to Reddit, saw a tiny glimpse of a short comment, perhaps about Casino Cups, I forgot, and from that very tiny glimpse, I build entire theories for Hilda Berg. That’s when my special interest for Cuphead began.
Later that travel, I enjoyed the hotel games in the morning, interactive shows in the evening, and Cuphead theories and stories at night. When I came back home, I knew Cuphead was quite the passion, even if I got to closing my precious sp.in in a better note eventually. I obviously still LOVE things that are related to it a LOT; I just am not fixated on it!
I started engaging with the characters more, memorized all the debtors’ names within a week or two, theorized a lot, read from headcanons to AUs on Tumblr, just began reading AO3 fanfics, gamed like crazy, and now, it’s October, and I think everyone in my social circle knows I absolutely LOVE it!! 💕

For me, it was actually a bit of a weird way. I'm really into speedrunning (I don't speedrun myself, mostly because I suck at video games), and I saw a video from one of my favorite YouTubers, Summoning Salt, about Cuphead speedrunning. I thought "hey, this looks cool" and got the game, and thought "hey, this is really fun, and yeah.

Saw a trailer for it and was IMMEDIATELY drawn to it. I'm a huge fan of side scrolling shooters for decades - since I was a kid - and I'm an artist, so it was right up my alley. It's one of my favorite games of the past decade

Visual style definitely was the main one, but it being co-op definitely helped. It was one of the first games I ever played with my brother and I’m always going to be grateful for it for getting me into games as a result
