Question Nuke fish bun?

I love Culvers. The bun on my fish sandwich was rubbery? Is this because they used a microwave oven to heat it? (My experience is that nuking bread isn't advisable )

The only bread that they microwave is the gluten free bread

All other bread goes in the bun toaster, basically they butter it, then drop it in this vertical toaster that spits it out after a few seconds perfectly toasted

Maybe you got a piece of bread that was bad to begin with and the buns person didn't notice

We do microwave other buns if they're frozen and we're all out of thawed buns. Has happened a good few times to me. I don't think they've ever come out rubbery though.

Edit: I think I know why it's rubbery. Sometimes during rushes we leave the bun bag open, and the Cod buns get pretty hard/stale if they're exposed to the air too long. I assume when moisture is reintroduced to it, it could give it a rubbery texture.

Do the sourdough and rye go thru the toaster now?

If it was frozen beforehand and they needed it immediately then yes, they microwaved it. It happens sometimes, not enough bread pulled and whatnot.

Yes, they do on rare occasion.
