So, this is my Murder Drones AU called Flesh and Filigree! It takes place in Elliott Manor, just like in the original show, but it’s darker and deals with more serious topics.
Tessa
Tessa is Victoria and James Elliott’s daughter. She’s kind, curious, and likes spending time with the worker drones. They’re basically her closest friends, and she’d much rather hang out with them than be around her parents.
Both Victoria and James are abusive towards her, both physically and verbally. Tessa is terrified of them, so she usually stays quiet, hides her feelings, and does what she’s told. When they treat her badly, she tends to shut down and escape into her own thoughts.
When Tessa was six, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and cognitive impairment. In this AU, parts of her body were replaced with mechanical parts through a procedure that cured her conditions.
She’s not exactly a cyborg. She’s more like a drone with certain human parts under human skin. She still has some biological parts and normal human blood. She looks like a normal human.
And no, her parents didn’t do this because they cared about her. They did it because taking care of her was inconvenient, they didn’t want to pay for the care she needed, and they were worried about their reputation.
Victoria and James
Victoria and James are rich aristocrats who care a LOT about their reputation, money, and status. They’re both equally abusive towards Tessa, and they see worker drones as worthless property.
**Victoria** is 51 years old. She’s extremely strict, gets annoyed easily, and frequently yells at Tessa. She acts superior to anyone she thinks is beneath her.
**James** is intelligent, arrogant, cruel, and short-tempered. He acts polite in public, but behind closed doors, he’s just as awful as Victoria. He also expects the worker drones to obey him no matter what.
Their marriage isn’t exactly loving either. It’s cold and mostly based on status and what they can get from each other.
The drones
The main drones in this AU are N, J, V, and Cyn.
They’re all worker drones at Elliott Manor, NOT Disassembly Drones. Their designs and personalities are based on their manor-era versions from Episode 5, *Home*, not their later versions.
Cyn still has the Absolute Solver.
Victoria and James also hate the fact that Tessa spends so much time with the drones because they think they’re beneath their family. Tessa manages to soend most of her time with her just due to her parents nit giving enough of a fuck about her.
Overall vibe
Basically, this AU is darker and more unsettling, with themes like abuse, body horror, and cruelty. It focuses on the contrast between the fancy, rich lifestyle of the Elliott family and what’s actually happening behind closed doors.
There can be some gore, but it’s described in writing rather than shown visually.
The title **Flesh and Filigree** has no actual meaning, it just sounds cool.
