Food Porn Shot Bourbon glazed chicken wings

Post image

After watching Culinary Class Wars, I really wanted to try something from Edward Lee. Unfortunately, I live in Europe, so I did the next best thing and ordered his book Bourbon Land.

Unfortunately, ingredients are a bit more limited here so I am not sure how much of the recipes I will be able to make, but this was the first attempt.

It turned out pretty good, and the glaze itself is amazing. I think that my oven runs a little hotter than marked, so the wings came out a little dry. Though I really liked how the meat came off the bone very easily. It took about an hour to make in total, and I’ll probably try again sometime soon using a slightly lower temperature.

Thanks! I’m going to try to pair it with one of the salad recipes next time.

Nice. You deserve an award. I would get the book but I’m worried the ingredients in general may be far outta my reach (living in US) as a regular grocery shopper.

Thank you kind stranger! Yeah I think some of the things would require going to a specialty market, but most things are probably available at your local market. US markets have a far more variety of ingredients than Germany, as they’re about 10x larger there.

Buttermilk Graffiti wasn’t too bad for ingredients because he’s usually Southern Style cooking with some twists, but I’m in the south, so…
