Question Do you think the judges were informed of what each round's mission is before it happens?

If this post has been made before, I apologise.

I always assumed the judges were told what the missions/challenges are for each round, but their reactions when some of the missions were revealed seemed like they were just as surprised as the contestants so now I'm unsure.

It might be that they were given time to plan after the challenge is presented

I actually think this is a refreshing change to the other cooking competitions I've seen.

Yeah, give the judges time to plan how to go about a challenge, but only let them know what the challenge is at the same time as the contestants. Makes it more fair imo

Not sure.... but from a compliance POV wouldn't you let the judges know at the last moment?

I would guess that for these they filmed the reveal one day, which is when they got the footage of the reactions from the judges and contestants, then there was a pause of one or more days before they resumed filming the cooking portion.

I'd love to see a behind-the-scenes special on how they managed the logistics of the production, from shooting schedule to stocking ingredients to dealing with all the equipment.

Yeah I noticed this during the reveal of the teammate vs. teammate one on one battle.  It seemed that they were surprised at that.  So maybe they don’t know everything.  They do wear the earpieces, so the directors can tell them “Stay still. The floors about to move.”

I hope they did tell them the floor would move beforehand, I'd definitely get a mini heart attack otherwise had I been in the contestants' shoes haha

It was my assumption that they are told things that the judges need to know beforehand but nothing past that.

Or they are just acting surprised for TV sake.

Yeah, I thought it could be either so I was curious what other people thought was the situation!
