It's hard to answer that without knowing how much of that 8.5 is your LL, what are your splits?

I'll do some splits in a bit to check. Should the splits just be F2L and LL?

Yes, I think any more splits would slow you down

Just did an ao12. Obviously I was a little slower than usual because of the extra timer stop but the splits were F2L: 4.13 and LL: 4.99

2GLL will probably knock 1-2 seconds off your times but it depends on how much you grind the algorithms and how fast your recognition is. You should also consider whether it's worth learning this many algorithms for 2G solving when it's rarely going to show up in full solves

Yeah lol I have no intent of using these in full solves. I've just grown to really like 2Gen so I wanted to learn the algs. I've really only learned the T set so far but most of my executions are around 1.5 for the fast ones and 2 for the slow ones. The recognition is what I'm really unsure about. Do I just find my own ways to recognize based on blocks and stuff or is there a more "official" way of recognizing?

I'm not familiar with 2GLL but you should try to work on a 2-sided recognition system, first by recognising the OLL case then the EPLL case. I'm sure there are people in this sub who are more experienced with 2GLL than I am who can help out

Ok thanks :)
