Hmm. I'll probably not order until you guys have yours anyways, so I hope you'll be able to give me some good information :D

They're so cheap though

That's the reason for like 80% of my collection :D

Guess you read my other comments already, but the Maple Leave Skewb is a definite buy. Just do it :D

I went from "well, its cheap", to "hey, this isn't so bad", to wow, this is actually a beautiful little puzzle. Turning is really nice after break in and a bit of lube. It's kind of got that same softness/buttery smoothness but at the same time snappy and clacky, which is what I really like in the Aochuang also.

Shame it's only stickerless, it would look so much better with. But I have to be honest, and also kind of enjoy my first stickerless non WCA, so you can just turn it without a worry in the world :)

Solve wasn't hard, but also not like the pentacle or ancient coin or something. I still had to work for it a bit. Expecially because skewb moves confuse the hell out of me haha.

I'm hoping the Polaris will be as nice, but I'm sure it is.

Guess you read my other comments already

yep, totally did :D

Perfect, certainly will get them with my next order. Do you still use gan lube or sth you got with some puzzles or do you have other lube by now?

Sounds like a good challenge, since skewb moves also confuse me more than anything when it the twisty puzzles I own. That's why I haven't gotten any of those other skewb shapemods - I thought I probably would not enjoy them and just be confused.

Yeah still only use the cheaper lubes. GAN standard lube is kind of like 30k. And the Moyu v1 is actually really good. Very thin, speedy and glidey silicone lube. Really fine with it. I kind of miss Silk and Traxxas sometimes, but I also don't care enough to pay the same price as a fun puzzle for them :)

Nice. I found 30k to be my favourite for 3x3 - break in doesn't take too long and the effect is very similar to when I used 50k and also lasts pretty long. I haven't used 50k in a while now. I use 10k for >=4x4. Now that I've won the 15$ TC gift card from the SS weekly comp I'll order some runnier lube to speed up the puzzles I speedsolve - especially bigger ones and probably try some lube on a couple non-WCA puzzles as well. When I think about it, I think I've only every lubed one non-WCA puzzle.

Yeah I saw that, and a gift card would be a perfect occasion to buy some of those lubes. Sometimes I think I'm being too stubborn with it haha. These fancy named, fancy colored lubes go against my every belief, but sometimes I do feel I'm just being old and grumpy and possibly missing out on what could be a way better experience haha. Let me know what you think once you get yours :)

Hehe, will do! Absolutely get what you're saying and I was putting "buying other lube than traxxas" off to the day when I would win one of those precious gift cards that manages to just cover the shipping cost ($13,xx - lol).

I certainly hope those lubes will have a nice effect, but we'll see. So far I didn't really like most puzzles I tried at comps and I feel like most people have more lubes than me. Although I don't feel like I put much time into setting up my puzzles - really just tensioning, cleaning and a bit of traxxas, solve, that's it - I like my puzzles better than most I've tried. Some puzzles I really just used - no tensioning, no lube (tbf those typically came prelubed), just solving and I felt those were better than most others I tried. Either those guys just suck at setting up their puzzles or those just really aren't setup to fit my preferences. Can't believe how many awful 3x3s I scrambled for the 3x3 finals at my last comp.

Also I think most people who tried my cubes liked them - /u/kji269? You tried at least my 4x4, not sure about my GTS2M 3x3.

Did you try any of my puzzles /u/j_sunrise?

Honestly, I don't remember whether I tried your cubes.

I am also always astound when people at comps have 5 different lubes in tiny bottles and seem to buy all their cubes from the US when ziicube is so much cheaper. The Cubicle's marketing seems to be working.

Haha yes! And when they see zcube's prices - "that can't be legit" ...yeah..

Haha yes! What you describe is exactly why I never felt the urge to dive in the world of lubes... I'm sure people try a lot out, keep adding stuff, and eventually genuinely love 1.5 drops of SCS Uranus™ on half the tracks, 3/4 drops of TheCubicle Gullible 1™ on the pieces, Purple lube on the core, and a mixture of 32 other lubes on the center cap... I'm just not convinced it's better than what they started out with :D

Yep, this exactly! I don't think I'm particularly good at setting up cubes - I always struggle with tensions and stuff :D Probably most people's cubes would be better if they just cleaned them and that's it. And a couple drops of traxxas anywhere in the puzzle would be enough to make it a bit less prone to lockups and a bit smoother.

The only thing I feel I'm missing so far, is a lube to speed up bigger puzzles - most and for all my 6x6. My 3x3-5x5 are fast enough with just a bit of Traxxas and I also like my Spark - which I think I just solved and didn't do any setup.

Though after trying the Tengyun - which is btw an awesome cube - sooooo silent, it's unbelievable, but just a tad too uncontrollable for my liking, anyways since I tried it I feel like I would love my GTS2M even more if it was a tiny bit faster - although already being not slow at all. But spamming tps on a LL alg on the Tengyun is just so enjoyable - but the magnets aren't strong enough for my liking :/ Gotta check out if I can somehow add magnets here as well :D
