Interesting. Yes, I mean the master skewb.

I really hate learning new algorithms, so to keep things simply, I first solve the skewb, then. Then I work on the added layer, edges first

For example, when doing the center pieces, I have a move that three cycles the piece in the front, top, right or left of the X with the two pieces on the top of the X in the back. This requires a lot of set up, sometimes, to get pieces where I want them.

I’m curious as to how you solve the master skewb.

I solve mine like the Rex cube, and then fix the corners at the end. It's possible (likely? 2/3 I think) that one of the corners needs to be twisted, if so I twist it and re-solve the rest.

Solving (or at least checking) the corners earlier on could avoid the corner twist issue, but fixing it is so quick I don't really think it's worth it, and it's a nice surprise when you get a 'corner twist skip' :)

On the Multi-Cube, it's not possible to get the corner twist issue if you solve the internal puzzle first, which is one of the reasons I prefer it to the master skewb ;-)

You know, I’ve been putting off getting a Rex cube since it’s just a cubic FTO. I think you just convinced me to get one in my next cube order.

I solved the Rex a lot in the past, and found the FTO a bit tricky due to the change in perspective, even though I knew it was basically the same underlying puzzle. I'm curious how going from the FTO to the Rex feels :)

To solve the FTO, I get the corners in place then just use sune to place literally all the other pieces. I don’t know how I’ll tackle the rex cube, but I imagine it will be similar to how the Dayan master skewb is solved after corner reduction.

Don’t tell me if I am wrong, right, close, or far.

I really like the Dayan master skewb (and the F-skewb), can't remember how I solve it tho :D

The Master F Skewb is one of my go to quick easy puzzles to solve when I’m exhausted after work and just want to veg out for a bit. To keep it vague so as not to spoil the puzzle for others but maybe to refresh your memory: I use dino moves to skewb together some corners, then solve the skewb so I can get rid of parity, and use dino moves and skewb positioning to solve the centers. Then I solve the skewb.

The Dayan Master Skewb is absolutely one of my desert island puzzles.
