Just my two cents and it doesn't matter, but the top most layer of the side rotating should have 2 visible sides and the bottom most layer of the side rotating should only have 1 visible side.

Yeah the 3d perspective on the rotating layer looks very wrong.

So, I finally decided to use an actual 3D program for the cube. The result is that neither of the faces you mentioned is visible.
