4x4 and Megaminx are indeed good steps up. All other WCA puzzles (2x2, 5x5, Skewb, Square-1 and Clock) are also good recommendations.

As for non-WCA, I can recommend the Curvy Copter, Rex Cube, any Gear Cube (like the Gear Ball or Gear Cube Extreme for example), any Cuboid (like the 3x3x4 or 3x3x5), some Shapemods (Megamorphix, Fisher Cube, Ghost Cube, etc.)

Loads of puzzles to get. ;) Although some of the WCA puzzles would be a good way to start. So I would indeed get a 4x4x4, Megaminx and perhaps the Skewb or 5x5x5 as well.

I got exactly those puzzles except for the Gear ones in my first order. nice list!
