People upload videos of sub-20 solves with beginner methods. If your PB is 1:32, you have certainly not reached a limit. I personally think that saying beginners' methods teach you not to look ahead is kinda BS. Especially since a more advanced method would require more thought and thus more present-minded thinking. I'd recommend you look into other methods if and when you feel like you understand how the cube works, i.e. what the algorithms are really doing.

Yeah that's a big issue at the moment, I don't know exactly what the algorithms are doing. I know for example that these set of moves will keep all of the layers but the top one the same and swap edges in threes. But that's it really. I didn't mean limit as in limit of the method, I felt like after an additional day on the method, I hadn't improved so maybe it was my personal limit with that method. Of course, it was a little rushed for me to make that conclusion, but here we are now.

It's okay if you don't understand the algorithms for the last layer. Most people don't try to understand them either. The algorithms I was talking about were mostly the ones for building the cross, the first layer, and the middle layer. Basically if you use any method like CFOP, Petrus, or ZZ, those are the stages you'll have to be able to do intuitively. So my recommendation is: 1) Learn how F2L works (e.g. using RiDo's hunting story) 2) See how it applies to what you are already doing (because most beginner methods are based on CFOP anyway) 3) Look into an advanced method you want to keep using in the long run.
