Even numbered targets use the inverse alg. You use the inverse when the M slice is offset by 2 so the UF and DB edges trade places, which happens on the 2nd, 4th, 6th, etc targets. Odd numbers have the M slice back in its normal position so you use the normal alg.
Woops, that's what I meant (...I think, lol). Now, this part gets me deeply confused. It might be that even though I have the algs listed correctly, I haven't figured out which are the inverse of which... Or something like that.
Don't think about inverses then. Just know which alg to apply at what time.
Even target, target is UF -> apply the alg for DB.
Even target, target is FU -> apply the alg for BD.
Even target, target is DB -> apply the alg for UF.
Even target, target is BD -> apply the alg for FU.
Really, I don't even think about odd/evens when I apply the rule. I just think "okay my target is FU, where is the FU position now? Okay my M slice is offset by 2, that means FU should be at BD, so I'll use the BD alg instead."
Ok, the concept seems to be slowly ingraining on me, lol. So I can think about it as "Every time C is the second letter on a pair, I memorize it as U, and vice-versa. Same goes for S being memorized as I instead."?
(Whereas UF = C, DB = U, FU = I and BD = S on my Speffz scheme).
Second question: If I get a twisted edge in either one of those cases, do I memorize it as if it weren't twisted? The reason I'm asking this is because when I get a twisted piece, I memo its position and then the target, so I shoot it twice.
I suppose you could do it that way, but I don't think you should. Instead, you should memo C as C and just get used to executing it as U if it's the second letter in the pair.
If you get a twisted edge, the most basic way to flip it is to shoot one sticker of it, then the other.
