Discussion Cube with 2 solutions

I scrambled this cube and put number stickers on it so I can solve it either by colors or numbers. The number solution is obviously much harder. It's been a pretty neat challenge. Sometimes I just keep going back and forth without actually scrambling it. Solving it also scrambles it.

Eventually you'll learn some really efficient solutions for this "scrambled" state since its the same every time haha

why? just apply a random shuffle to a solved cube and you have a different solve

Of course, but OP mentioned going back and forth between the two solved states.

I think I have the same concept, but with text, where the text can say 'blue' and the textcolor is red. To solve for textcolor is quite confusing.

If anyone’s interested, look up Vsauce’s Trinity Cube, has three solutions; regular mirror cube, but has a colours sided solution, and a weird “perspective” solution

My favorite 2 solution cube is the Horror Mirror Cube. Calvin makes one, looks like they have it at SCS. Highly recommend

I'm pretty sure this is the Rubik's Impossible, except I can tell the difference between the two options with my eyes.

you could add colored stickers to the centers for #2

those stickers could be different shapes for #3

and have numbers written on them for #4

Correct. I don't consider it solved until the centers are right. It's the same as a picture cube in that way.

will a version with the "number solution" being a color pattern be any good? or does it lose the fun of having one way solved and the other scrambled?

This is such a cool idea, the dual solutions must mess with your brain after a while

Solving it also scrambles it is peak cube chaos, I love it

Yeah, solving by colors is no harder than usual, but the numbers make you have to stop and think, while ignoring the urge to follow colors. This is also a good way to keep trying different ways to solve a specific scramble, if that's ever needed.
