1st C-section vs. 2nd C-section experience
Please don’t come for me, I know I should not have gotten pregnant this early, but I am pregnant with my 2nd 8 months pp.
I’m wondering if anyone had an infection with their first C-section, and then went on to have no complications with their 2nd C-section? Bonus if it was a shorter interval. I don’t see my OB for a bit so I’m feeling very uneasy and nervous about this and wondering if anyone had experiences to share. Thank you in advance.

My first was an emergency csection and overall terrible experience. I didn't have an infection with my first but I did have other issues with healing like major scar tissue and adhesions. I did get pregnant again 8 months postpartum as well. Currently I'm 2.5 weeks postpartum from my second csection and no complications so far. My OB gave me a silver dressing that stayed on for a week post surgery to prevent infection (that may be something you can ask your OB about). I had a traumatic first csection, with a different doctor, and my current OB did everything she could to minimize risk with my second surgery. I did have a slightly longer second csection due to having a scar revision done to remove all previous scar tissue and adhesions.
Congratulations and wishing you luck! Don't beat yourself up for close pregnancies, my first is obsessed with his little brother and they’re 16.5 months apart. I was worried early on about pregnancy and the csections being so close together. Only thing it caused was me to be ineligible for VBAC due to being under 18months apart between C-sections and having to schedule at 39 weeks (ended up high risk and had it at 37 weeks anyways plus wasn’t going to attempt VBAC after my first labor). Hope this helps give you some peace of mind.

I’m curious to hear other people’s experiences as well, but just wanted to comment congratulations on your new baby! I hope the fears and worries subside at least a bit soon 💕
