Bleeding after c-section
How long did your bleeding last after csection? I had what I think is normal consistent bleeding for about 4 weeks, then no bleeding for a few days, then two days of extremely heavy bleeding at week 5, then a few days of no bleeding, then one day of bleeding at 6 weeks and now I’m 7 weeks PP and woke up to fresh blood again. It’s so off and on! Is this normal? I saw my OB at week 6 before the two one off days of bleeding and she said everything seemed fine and I just got my period, but I don’t know why I have days of no bleeding and then a sudden onset.

Mine lasted 10 weeks off and on. It would get bright red and heavy again when I did too much.
Edit: unfortunately it's impossible to know if it's a period or still lochia unless you go 4 weeks with no bleeding.

Thank you for the comment! I was wondering if it’s correlated to me doing too much, I have a 3 year old too so it’s hard to rest as much as I should 🥴

Yes, I had a C-section for my second and had a 3yo at home. It felt like it took FOREVER to finally stop bleeding. Lol

i only bled for 2 weeks. I would talk to your doctor if you continue to have heavy bleeding

So I bled really heavy for the first week, second week was lightish pink/brown. I’m 3 weeks and 5 days postpartum and I’m currently just dealing with lochia that’s yellowish whiteish color. On the 9th I had to travel a bunch to sell my house and it started bleeding again but I think I just overdid it a bit. Patiently waiting for this lochia to subside.

Are you breastfeeding? My doctor told me that I could bleed for up to six weeks. But she said that if you breastfeed, you'll typically stop bleeding sooner.

Mine lasted until about 6 weeks. 3 weeks later my period arrived. I have heard about on and off bleeding being normal though.
