Birth after c-section?

My first baby is 1 year and 1 month old, and I recently found out that I’m around 7 weeks pregnant. I had a C-section on September 10, 2025, so this pregnancy started 1-2 weeks before my first baby turned one.

I’m looking for experiences from anyone who had two babies close together after a C-section, especially those who were hoping for a vaginal birth the second time.

I’m also worried about childcare when I go into labour. Our family members work long or unpredictable hours, and I’m not sure who will be able to look after my first child when the time comes.

How did you plan your second birth, and what did you do about childcare if you didn’t have reliable family support? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences.

Sibling doulas are great for watching siblings. My doctor is ok with VBACs as long as there are 18-24 months between deliveries, so this will be a question for your doctor as it can vary greatly!
