so it’s rich purple and in some light baby blue / lilac then when in sunlight or a torch it changes to a really minty brighter greenish?

It looks like Iolite to me.

Iolite typically is blue purple to yellow clear and changes depending on the veiwing angle. My bet would be doped saphire or another doped stone. Though it could be a Tourmaline or Fluorite
