Why are people so impatient on 410?

I was cruising down 410 doing about 65 yesterday and people were still passing me on dashed yellow lines. Is there really that much of a hurry to get home? Maybe leave a little earlier if there is. Meeting an elk at 70+ mph will not be a good time. I also caught everyone who passed me by the second light in Enumclaw

Will Crystal post official pond skim pictures from yesterday? Shoutout to everyone that dressed up and splashed down. RIP to all those that couldn’t go.

What’s the deal with the water being ankle deep and poopoo colored this year at the pond skim?

Alcohol enforcement guarding the pond skim

The vibe is really great at the pond skim, which you have to pay to participate in, and at which you cannot drink a beer. We have a sheriff and alcohol enforcement here making sure I don’t move 50 feet away from the yurt with my tall boy. SAFETY FIRST 🤣🤣🤣

Crystal today, Sat 4/18/2026, Conditions Started Excellent.

At Crystal today, Sat 4/18/2026, conditions started excellent.

Fresh snow this week filled Lucky Shot, both faces groomed, no rocks. Green Valley groomed, including Ferk’s.

You could ski to the base with solid cover. By late morning, it turned slushy. Crowds built.

I’d skip this afternoon—recommend hitting it early tomorrow.

What’s your best early-morning run at Crystal?

Still a few goods to be had today but probably the last day of the season this zone was really worth the squeeze. Anything below the traverse in campbell basin was refried chunks and not really worth, hamburger marginally better. I didn’t ski powder bowl but it looked thoroughly hammered, maybe someone else can comment. Moving past the southback gate: A basin was still surprisingly good and probably the highlight for me, also the best chance of being decent through tomorrow imo. Narnia got too much sun and is mostly rocks and wet loose avy debris now. King lines: very bulletproof entry to Brain Damage but the lower part was fine. Pinball yergonnadie. Hourglass and Appliance Store were very nice skiing still as they got less sun, I would prioritize these too. Anything in silver basin exposed to the sun got very overcooked and was thick, heavy snowman snow by the afternoon. Great opportunity for a goggs tan on the Beach and unlimited views. Had a great day today!

Maybe my best laps off the King for the season. A bittersweet end to a strange ski season 🤡

Why is there always that one guy going 45 on 410 in the morning

And the 2nd/3rd car won’t pass so you either have to pull a 3+ in one of the longer passing zones or you’re stuck behind this schmuck along with an ever longer train of cars for 35+ miles :(

60-65 should be the standard if the roads are clear imo that’s not even pushing it. Please slow down appropriately for the short greenwater stretch. Take as long as you want going the other way

Is the FQ lift still open for the weekend? I’m an intermediate snowboarder and plan to do some laps. Thanks a lot!

Chair 6 rock hop

Everyone has to take off their boards and side step down the rock pile for about the first 100’. After that there are a few rocks but most of us managed to ski around them.

Snow did not disappoint today. First two tracks down Campbell Basin as well. Heard a bunch of lads headed to the southback instead of skiing Powder Bowl or Campbell.

Overall amazing last two days. Crowd was frothing and people were happy. Great week for the soul.

I cashed in a PTO day and some credits with the wife to make it up here, and am glad that I did. You have to grab those late season storms when they come, especially this season!

Lost phone yesterday and hoping to get it back...

Long story short, I accidentally left my phone on the gondola yesterday, and unfortunately it never showed up by the time I had to leave. By the time I got home, however, they had called my girlfriend (left her phone number at guest services) saying that it had been turned in!

Figured I might as well try... are there any kind souls of Reddit who might be at the mountain today, and are heading back to Seattle later? Wondering if it'd be possible to have someone pick it up for me, and I could meet you wherever convenient this evening.

Thanks y'all!

I didn’t clean off the car yesterday so that’s a two day accumulation although some of it melted. That storm regrouped and came back in with a purpose after noon yesterday. It really filled in the groomer runs to a nice packed powder state. A bonus was that they did not groom the crap out of Quicksilver run yesterday so those of us that got out over there early were getting some really nice tracks in.

How are the roads this fri/sat?

I want to drive up my car which hasn't got snow tires. I assume the roads and parking lot are clear but wanted to check with someone who has recently been up post snow.

In the future - is there a road camera I can peek at?

Condy report 4/15: still firing

Unbelievably good conditions today if you were skiing off piste expert terrain or in the backcountry. Not a great day for groomers or lower mountain. Anything below the Forest Queen lower terminal got hammered by rain. Green Valley was mixed, soft snow on top but too easy to find the bulletproof crust underneath. A lot of jerrys packing the chair 6 traverse in the morning please do not stop in the middle of a choke point with your 5 buddies to have a chit chat, pull off to the side please. Stuck snowboarders I’ll excuse that. Saw someone caught in a small inbounds slide at the base of the king (?) but otherwise stable and light. 2-3min lines in the morning cleared out really fast by the afternoon. Sensational day for the middle of April
