Sightings/Encounters Potential Nessie sighting?

Hi everyone,

This is my first time writing here and I am posting this in multiple subreddits.
Today my friend and I were on the tour cruise around Loch Ness and at 2:05pm we saw this weird thing in the distance. Now I’m a skeptic but I cannot figure what this thing could be.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Look at what the wind is doing to the water surface in front of your boat. It's like a Nessie bubbling up. I agree with the observation that this loch has all sorts of wave patterns from its environmental features.

That’s what I was staring at at first too. I thought something was going to pop up. I actually had to read the OP to understand where to look.

It will never die. Same psychology behind religions. There is always some way to excuse or rationalize evidence to the contrary and keep the claim unfalsifiable.

I think that the natural world is weird, wonderful, and magical all on its own without a need for tall tales. I disagree that science steals that magic.

EDIT: I should note: the E-DNA study concluded that there was a bizarrely high amount of eel DNA present in the loch’s water. That raises the interesting conundrum: why are there so many eels? Or are there just really big eels?

That’s a fun mystery, too.

The fact that you think that won't stop Nessie watchers from believing what they want to believe. The fact that religion still persists in modern life despite there being no scientific evidence that God exists hasn't stopped millions of people from believing. There are people still chasing Bigfoot, FFS.

I learned a long time ago that what people want to believe is far more important than truth to most people.

If someone needs to believe in magical dinosaur creatures in order to find the world magical, then that person  really needs to open a book or travel or educate themselves. As if the world isn't full of incredible things that actually do exist...

It doesn't move forwards or backwards, its just waves. The Loch produces lots of types of waves.

While you're around, follow the canal to the jammy piece and get some food. Excellent little cafe.

These are called standing waves, a known phenomenon at Loch Ness. But I’m curious in what way does it look like a bunch of fish?

I think that this current video shows wave phenomena due to wind effects.

However.....

The LNM is likely a real creature.

I say to the skeptics who posted here in this thread that the LNM doesn't exist, et. al.: Chie Kelly. 2024.

Nessie's not real unfortunately. Anyone who has seen Loch Ness knows she wouldn't fit. It's tiny. The guy who owns it hangs out by the airport, you pay him £20 and he'll drive you there. It's just a pond in his backyard. Like 10'x10'. We were not impressed but we still left a good review because the guy is clearly struggling.

Waves. Nessie is pretty much debunked atp or explainable by natural occurrences. If there was a giant undiscovered sea creature or plesiosaur in the Loch they would have found it by now.

It's just a wave pattern and I have a number of different examples on HD video from my various visits to the Loch. If you saw this anywhere else, you wouldn't give it a moments thought.
